Currently running netbackup 7.6 on 2008 R2 Ent
Previous administration setup our backups to our local datadomain(Production) and then set a duplication job to our secondary Datadomain(DR) in our warm site. I'm wondering if there is a better way or more efficient way to do this. I was wondering if instead of a separte duplication job just have our production datadoamin sync to our DR Datadomain? we are already doing this with our VM backup software without issue. My concern would be on restoring from the DR Datadomain. Would I have to "trick" netbackup into thinking the DR Datadomain is production so I can restore from it?
During our DR Drill a couple months ago all I did was make Copy 2 which was on DR Datadomain the Primary Copy and restored fine but we want to try and eliminate netbackup directly talking to the DR Datadomain on a daily basis. Plus we don't have huge bandwidth to our DR Site currently and I've got a ton of duplication jobs queued up to it so we want to sync between datadomains as much as possible.
